He's got it!
Grayden is now able to roll over from belly to back and back to belly on his own. However, I am inclined to think that sometimes he is just falling over. He does have a giant head, you know. That's a lot to balance.

Say What?
I think Grayden talks in his sleep, just like his father. I've been noticing lately that the sounds he makes in the middle of the night aren't necessarily cries for food so much as just yelling out. I have started experimenting and not immediately giving him a bottle when I hear him stir. Several times now he has finally quieted down and continued sleeping, if he does cry, he gets the bottle. I have made it to 6 am several days without having to give him a bottle. However, that doesn't mean yet that I have been able to sleep through the night as I am always up listening to him wondering what he is plotting.

Circ du Soleil
Well Grayden has finally learned how to roll over from his tummy onto his back. And he is very pleased with himself. Granted he seems to only roll to the left-but what a left! I can barely keep him on his tummy anymore. I think he likes the cheers from mommy and daddy more than the actual rolling over itself.

Sizing him up
This is just an FYI for any well-meaning family members that are thinking of buying Grayden clothes for Christmas. He is a big boy, so please plan accordingly. He is in need of PJs and bibs, some "swaddling blankets" might also be nice too, as they are just thin blankets that we use as burp rags. However, be forewarned that he is very tall. I just bought him new PJs that are 6-9 months, and apparently they barely fit him anymore. Auntie M and my friend Chris were over this weekend, and they laughed at how small his PJs were. Auntie M commented that he was going to grow to be bow-legged cause his legs had no where to grow! Keep in mind these PJs are 6-9 month size, and he's not even 6 months yet! Pretty soon I am going to have to cut notches in my doorframes so he can get through.

Mange, Mange
Grayden's first time eating went very well. Of course he was so adorable. He was a little unsure at first, but took what was offered anyway. The look on his face was absolutely hilarious. I believe he was thinking, "Oh my God what is this crap?!", while his expression was terribly polite, well, as polite as one can be while being offered spoonfuls of goo. And I definitely think that he is following in both his families footsteps by having a healthy appetite. He ate his entire bowl of cereal and really seemed to enjoy the action of eating; though I am sure he could have done without the yucky taste of the rice cereal. If only he knew what was in store for him with the yummy squash and fruit that await him.

Funny little man
So it seems as though Grayden already has a sense of humor. Yesterday Gray was reaching up towards Scott's nose, so I told him to let him grab it. After he grabbed it, he sat there and chuckled to himself. Then he looked at me and reached out for my nose, so I let him grab it, wherein he proceeded to laugh with delight again. Then he turned back and forth between us grabbing our noses and laughing. It probably would have been far more cute if his little fingernails weren't also digging into our noses at the same time.

Little Ears
Fingers crossed that little G isn't getting an earache. He kept tugging at his ear, which was a little warm and red...but that might just be from the tugging...poor babe.

I didn't think you were suppose to feed them after midnight
So Scott emails me today and tells me how adorable the baby was when he woke up. I told him that I didn't agree as he woke up at 2 am wanting to eat and then again before 6 am wanting to eat again. Sorry, but that stuff just ain't cute.

A day in the life...
I'll post some daily going-ons about Grayden besides just cute pictures of him.
1. He is now grabbing his toes and had started putting them into his mouth. Which I think is kind of gross since he always has toe jam, but he doesn't seem to mind.
2. He has almost mastered rolling over. He would lean very far to the side and get upset that he was caught on his arm and couldn't turn onto his belly. Then one day we put him on his stomach and in a second he had spun over onto his back. It seems that's easier for him, but he hasn't done it since.
3. His mommy is very naughty and let him lick her Halloween candy bar. He has decided his new favorite is Twix.
4. He has also decided that he likes the taste of Honeycrisp apples-smart boy. He was very interested in the apple that daddy was eating, so we let him suck on it and he really liked it. The next time daddy came by with an apple Grayden was very excited and had to taste it again. He was upset that we didn't let him do more than just slobber on it.
5. He keeps making chompy mouth actions when he sees us eat, so we just laugh at him and tell him that he's just a baby and can't have any..haha. But seriously, the doctor said to wait until he's 6 months before we start solids, but if he keeps showing interest we might start earlier than that.
6. His new favorite games are Torro- a baby version of bullfighting; Baby bio-dome- a baby version of the Thunderdome; and wrestling- which just involves smashing into objects and body slamming daddy. These games are exclusively played with dad. Mom does things like sing pirate songs, and make him dance like a leprechaun.
7. For Halloween he was the chef rat from Ratatoullie. No pictures yet, as he wore the costume for all of 5 min and I didn't want pictures of a crabby rat baby. So we will try to recreate Halloween and post some pictures later.
8. He basically has started walking now...well, with a lot of help from daddy at least. If you hold him so he stands on the ground he will make walking motions across the floor. It's a little creepy to see someone so small "walk", so of course we do it all the time for our amusement.
9. He is getting so big it's crazy. He is growing out of most of his 3-6 month clothes. I guess they still "fit" if you don't mind a big scoopneck just so the bottom can snap close at his crotch. I feel like I just bought him his 3-6 month PJs, but those are barely fitting anymore, so I will have to go and buy him some 6-9 month soon-and he's not even 5 months old yet! I mean, I guess he can wear them a little while longer. If you don't mind that his legs are so stuffed in there that his toes curl up.
