Out of the mouths of babes

OK, So I am a good baker, heck I am actually a fantastic baker, and could give dang near anyone a run for their money. But when your little boy tells you the Christmas cookies you made are “kind of icky”, it has to make you laugh. He actually refuses them when offered. Fine by me, I think they are fantastic.

That's called winning

Tonight was momentous for Grayden. He went peepee in the potty all by himself without even being asked to. He ran off quick and came back without his diaper saying he peepeed. So I grabbed a paper towel and asked him to show me where. Lo and behold he led me to his potty and showed me the peepee. Needless to say there was much fanfare and a few handfuls of mini marshmallows as his special treat. I couldn't be more proud.

Bragging rights

So it's official, our child is really intelligent, or at least that's what the doctor told us at his 2 yr check-up. Though I am not quite sure how you test the intelligence of a 2 yr old, the doctor seemed quite impressed with him, and that's good enough for me.

A few more

Currently he has added a few more words to his vocabulary. There's "Bubble", "nee-ner nee-ner" (Thanks to The Big Bang Theory) and Heidi's favorite, "Hi-Deeee". I guess Auntie M should have had an easier pronounce name.

He also says:

Baaaaaaaay...................Beeeeeeeeeeeeee. (Baby). And Alligator, but it more sounds like Ayeegateee....

Ducky, ducky, ducky ducky

That's what little boys say when they take baths.

New things

I really need to start keeping better track of Grayden's progress. He does new things every day, I just can't seem to find the time to write them down. Currently he really only says mama, and dada, and baw (ball), and within the last few days he has begun to say "No", unfortunately it's when mama and dada want him to do something, like sit still when we change his diaper. He is very liberal with his use of the word ball, and now every round shape he sees becomes a ball. Every ball, apple, orange, button, becomes "ball" he doesn't discriminate. The other night, as soon as we got in the car to leave he points to the full moon and announces "baw, baw, baw"; it took us awhile to realize he was talking about the moon. Then we tried to convince him it was called "moon ball", but he wasn't buying it.
